Jesus T. Hernandez, a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away early Friday morning, June 21, 2019 at Kirkwood Manor at the age of 81. Jesus was born on February 20, 1938 in New Braunfels to the late Diego Hernandez and Tomasa Trevino Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie, Matilde and Isaac Hernandez; sisters, Benita Zapata and Micaela Hernandez; grandson, Matthew De Leon and daughter-in-law, Amy Hernandez. Survivors include his children, Esperanza Hernandez, Esther Coble, Eli Hernandez, Esme De Leon (Jaime) and Ernesto Hernandez (Lydia); grandchildren, Bo (Claudia), Francisco, Melissa (Leo), Manuel (Katie), Jennifer (Juan), Jesus and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Jerimiah, Joshua, Amadeus, Kiara, Kiya, Lexi, Julianna, Moni, Jose, Jaime, Tessie and Marcos. In addition, Jesus is survived by a great-great-grandchild, Little V. and two brothers, Leon and Pedro. A time to visit with the family will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Celebration of Jesus’ life at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. All services will end at 9:00 PM on Wednesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to a church of your choice.
