John Tsovilis

On this 15th day of October 2021, at 6:10pm CST, we had to say goodbye to this wonderful man “John Tsovilis”, who passed away due to medical complications. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sophia Tsovilis; (4) children; (6) grandchildren; (1) daughter-in-law and (1) son-in-law. They are as follows: Vasili Tsovilis and wife, Christi “Bair” Tsovilis and their two children, Nikkos Tsovilis and Kostas Tsovilis; Efrosine Tsovilis; Demetra “Tsovilis” Oranday her husband, Felix Oranday and their two children, Sarai Oranday and Hope Oranday, and Christos Tsovilis and his two children, Yiannis Tsovilis and Orianna Tsovilis. John Tsovilis was a family man. He lived his life to the fullest. Originally born and raised in Eleftheri, Greece, then migrating to America at the ripe age of 14. Creating a life of adventure, he lived in many places (NY, MN, FL, and TX) and owned many business before settling in Florida and raising a family. He was your local pizza cook who always found pleasure in servicing people and making them happy. He talked about life and loved everyone equally. He was a loving, caring, sweet, and gentle man who would feed you if you were hungry or not and give you the last dollar in his pocket and a place to stay. He never complained and looked at life as we are all the same and all connected as family one way or another. In 2009, John Tsovilis had survived an aneurysm in his brain, but unfortunately was forced to retire. In 2013, after 31 years in Daytona Beach, FL, he decided it was time to move on and experience life in New Braunfels, TX where his family grew even larger. He lived quietly in Texas with his family and would travel to see his grandchildren as they were the priority now as a grandfather “Papou”. He would say to everyone to live your life, be kind to one another, love and provide for your family and be true to yourself and always have napkins on you just in case. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
