John Watson Barfield, Sr.

John Watson Barfield, Sr., a resident of Bulverde, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 74. John was born on June 19, 1941 in Columbus, GA to William Oscar Barfield and Coy Washam Barfield. John had many occupational passions in life, but above all, working as a dog handler was most dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents and by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his loving wife, Willo Barfield; children, CWO3 John W. Barfield, Jr., Terry Hall, Sabrina Moreland, Tommy Barfield and Eddy Barfield; grandchildren, Sean and Matthew Barfield, Joshua, James and Jaelynn Hall, Emma and Maggie Barfield. In addition, John is also survived by a brother, Dick Barfield and by a sister, Rena Cannon. A celebration of John's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to your choice of any breed rescue organization or to the American Cancer Society.

To my uncle Bo who I have a lot of fond memories. I remember you all the way back to my childhood. So handsome loving and caring. My mom’s little brother who she nick named Bo Gator. You always made all of us happy when u would come visit us in Ga. Granny Barfield would be so excited. I will always hold ur memory in my heart. I wish I could be there to comfort your family. I will keep them all in my prayers. Terry ur daughter sure does love her daddy. What a devoted daughter she has been . God bless u Willow and all your children and grand children. Uncle Bo, I wish I could of come to see you many years ago. It is sad families drift apart and forget to keep in touch. I remember you living with us when I was a little girl. Rest In Peace. Now you are in heaven with my mama, your sister Thelma. You two will have lots of fun. Love you!

I have only good memories of you uncle Bo . I remember as a child you and your family along with uncle Dick and his family coming to Ga. To visit. At Christmas time to. I have heard many stories from mom and dad about you and I will say I enjoyed and laughed at them all!! Dad love telling the story of you and him in a bar and you had your pet snake with you and took it out of your shirt and scared the heck out of a few people. Needless to say you both got kicked out of the bar .. mom likes to tell the story of you flying from Texas to Ga. With your snake in your shirt and noone ever knew. Their are so many more.
