John William "Bill" Frizzell

John William "Bill" Frizzell, 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in New Braunfels. Born on July 21, 1931 in Drumright, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late John Taylor Frizzell and Gladys Putman Frizzell. After graduating from Drumright High School, he attended Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University), graduated in 1953 and started work at Monsanto in Texas City for four months before joining the Army where he served proudly for two years. After his military service, Bill returned to Monsanto in 1955 where he worked until his retirement in 1985. He married the love of his life, Evelyn Geiser on September 7, 1952. Bill loved high school and college football, golf and was an avid music lover. He sang in church choirs, played guitar, mandolin and banjo with a lot of instruction from his teacher, Eddie Collins. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sons, Wes and Ross Frizzell. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn; son, Chris Frizzell; daughter, Jan Frizzell and partner Janis Cogswell; brother Bob Frizzell and his wife Mary Louise; sister, Betty Thomas and her husband Jack. A memorial service will be held at New Braunfels Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
