Jose G. "Apa" Trejo, Sr., a life-long resident of New Braunfels, was called home to be with his savior on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the age of 90. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed playing his guitar while at church and was fond of fishing. In addition, he liked watching wrestling, and jumped at the opportunity to attend the live events. Jose was born on January 5, 1923 in New Braunfels to Eusebio Trejo and Felicita Garcia Trejo. Later in life he married Sylveria Guardiola. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylveria Guardiola; two sons, Guadalupe Trejo and Jose G. Trejo, Jr. Survivors include his sons, Ruben G. Trejo, Sr. and Erasmo Trejo, Sr.; grandchildren, Ruben "B.B." Trejo, Jr. and wife, Angelica, Irene Medina and husband, Chuy, Guadalupe Trejo and wife, Sarah, Cristo and wife, Oneida, Erasmo Jr. and wife, Carol, Abel and wife, Michelle, and Nancy and Terry and also numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition, he is also survived by his ex-daughter-in-law, Maria D. Soto. Pallbearers will be: Ruben Trejo, Jr., Chuy Medina, Abel, Guadalupe, Cristobal and Erasmo Trejo, Jr. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service scheduled for 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. All services will end at the conclusion of the visitation on Friday morning.

Though your hearts may be filled with sadness,let them also be filled with pride and joy.You guys did a great job of taking care of “grandpa”. It always used to bring a smile to my face,when he was running with you to San Antonio,or wherever the latest doctor visit was. I hope that brings you guys some peace. As for Senor Trejo,rest in God’s arms. You are now home with your beloved.

I’m sure ruben and erasmo remember them. Refujia segura was my grandma. God bless you all in this time of loss. But i know he loved and served the Lord and is now with him in heaven!
