Jose Gallegos, Sr., a resident of New Braunfels, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the age of 81. Jose was born on October 18, 1932 in Big Springs, TX to Estaban Ligas and Refugia Gallegos. For most of his working life, Jose was employed as a talented carpenter. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Felicita Garcia Gallegos Trejo; parents, Perfecto and Refugia Segura; grandson, Franscico Gallegos, Jr. and granddaughter, Cindy Jo Ramirez. Survivors include his loving wife of 62-years, Sebastiana (Chana) Gallegos; sons, Jesse Perez and wife, Delfina, Joe Gallegos and wife, Dolores, Franscico Gallegos and wife, Gloria, Antonio Gallegos and wife, Rosie, Michael Gallegos and Marcos Gallegos; daughters, Josefa Ramirez and husband, Roger, Keta Martinez and husband, Herbie, Natalia Dailey and husband, Charles, Beatrice Penn and husband, Steven, Dalia Llanas and husband, Max and Cristina Medrano and husband, David. In addition, Jose is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 1-great-great-grandchild, 1 brother and 8 sisters.

  1. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of my Tio Micho’s family. May God give all my cousins and my Tia Chana and all his Grandchildren and family the strength and the peace.
