Jose Rodriguez, a resident of Austin, passed away early Thursday morning, January 23, 2020 at Renaissance Assisted Living in Austin at the age of 85. Mr. Rodriguez was born on September 6, 1934 in Brownsville, TX to the late Hermenegildo Rodriguez and Maria Medrano Rodriguez. Jose served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of Tech Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hortencia H. Rodriguez on June 3, 2015; son, Raymond Rodriguez; daughter, Gloria Linda Rodriguez and by his granddaughter, Chelsea Rodriguez. Survivors include his sons, Robert Rodriguez and wife, Julie, Ruben Rodriguez and wife, Beverly and Rick Rodriguez and wife, Nora; grandchildren, Whitney Anderson, Chandler Rodriguez, Nick Tuech, Ashley Rodriguez and Erica Rodriguez; four great-grandchildren; brother, Agapito Rodriguez and sister, Mary Silva. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with military honors performed by the United States Air Force at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. All services will end at the conclusion of the visitation on Thursday afternoon.
