On Monday April 27th, 2020 Joseph Milo Acosta passed away at the age of 70. Joseph was born on October 2nd, 1949 in Columbus Ohio. He was a veteran Marine, received a degree in respiratory care from Marshall University, and worked for over 20 years at the VA as a respiratory therapist. Joseph was dedicated to his family, often planning long road trips to visit his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins all over the country. He was an avid golfer, theologian, music lover and secret RomCom fan. He would remember your favorite meal and cook it whenever you visited or sit and talk with you for hours about anything. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Patricio and Ethel Acosta and several of his siblings. He is survived by his children Avi and Mig Rothman, Alicia and Jamo McCarty, Gina and Juan Castaño, Elizabeth Botkin and Michelle Malebranche, Covan Botkin, Joseph Acosta II, and Patrick Acosta; his grandchildren Daphne and Gabriel McCarty; his siblings Jenny and Jeff Weingarten, and Rose McCoy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Per Joseph's wishes, there will not be a funeral, his body will be laid to rest at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in the pine box he always dreamt of.
