Judy Evelyn Lovell Swartz, a resident of Canyon Lake, passed away early Thursday morning, September 9, 2021, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 78. Judy was born on June 23, 1943 in Charlotte, MI to the late Ellis and Evelyn Lovell. Judy attended Bellevue High School-Belleville, MI and graduated in 1961. During her 11th grade year, Judy met fellow classmate Larry Swartz, who later turned out to be her future husband. She then went to University and then to Flint Junior College where Larry was also a student. They dated until 1964, and then got married. Judy and Larry then moved to Alpena, MI to a town she had never seen and to an apartment she had never seen. Larry worked in maintenance for the city sewage and water plant. In 1965, Larry left that position to join the Michigan State Police Department. They lived in five different homes for the next five years. Their last 25 years was spent in Houghton Lake, MI until Larry retired in 1990. They then moved to Florida for the next 10 years and after that to Canyon Lake, TX. While in Texas, Larry and Judy were active in the Church of Nazarene and then Cranes Mill Baptist Church. Their family has since grown to a total of 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with one on the way. Survivors include her husband Larry; children, Debbie Palm, Doug Swartz and Dawn Dillenbeck; grandkids, Steph, Billy, Jimmy, Sarah, Courtney, Sadie, Carson and Carter; great-grandkids, Maddison, Noah, Liam, Scarlett, Mia, Abby, Emree, Eislee, Oliver, Eviee, Lucy, Judah, Primrose and soon to be Elliee. Judy is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Pray. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Cranes Mill Baptist Church, 10215 FM 2673, Canyon Lake, TX 78133. Judy will be laid to rest at a later date at York Chapel Cemetery in Bellevue, OH.
