Obituary for Julie Beth Snow

Julie B. Snow, 42, of Canyon Lake, TX, formerly of Eau Claire, WI, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at her home, after losing a painful battle with an illness that had incapacitated her for over a year.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1976, to Leslie and Ruth (Biddle) Deutschlander. She grew up and attended schools in Thorp, WI, graduating from Thorp High School in 1994.

Julie married the love of her life, Michael P. Snow, on Jan. 2, 1999. Together, Julie and Michael fulfilled her lifelong dream of caring for and mothering many children. Julie loved people, in general, but especially cherished children. Over the years, they opened their home to fifty foster placements and forever impacted countless lives. Julie’s impassioned and earnest ministry inspired others to become foster and/or adoptive parents. Julie & Michael lovingly built their beautiful family through adoption, of which she was a fervent advocate and supporter. Her children were her treasure, her joy, and her very heartbeat. There was nothing she enjoyed more than being a devoted mother and teacher to them, creating a wonderful home for them, and selflessly putting their needs before her own. She personalized the relationships she had with each of them in such special and tender ways. She longed to raise children who would change their world by loving God and serving others.

Julie’s love for her family was surpassed only by her adoration for her Savior, Whom she loved with all her heart, mind, and soul. She gave willingly and sacrificially for the purpose of advancing God’s Kingdom; she considered it an enormous privilege and dedicated her life to doing so. Her greatest desire was to minister to the broken and to share the love and light of Jesus with all those she encountered in the hope that they would seek out the source of her love, peace, hope, and good works -- her precious Jesus.

Julie was a carefree dreamer, poet, and visionary who loved to celebrate life, be silly, play games, and to laugh … often at herself. She enjoyed being unique; she embraced differences and appreciated diversity. She admired natural things and continually marveled at the majesty of God’s creation. She saw beauty in everything and everyone. The “little” things were most special to her, as was spending time with those most dear to her. Wild-hearted, she lived in great anticipation of her next adventure. She was bright, creative, and immensely talented as a singer, writer, photographer, and much more. But what Julie did best was to love fiercely, unrelentingly, and without limit.

Julie had been known to often say that she was living her dream. Along the way, she touched and shaped the hearts and lives of many, and it is nearly impossible for those who knew and loved her to imagine a world void of her fearless, determined nature, captivating, compassionate spirit, and those stunning, unforgettable green eyes.

She is survived by: her husband, Michael of Canyon Lake, TX; her children, Evening (Derick) Peters of San Antonio, TX, Israel Snow of Eau Claire, WI, Elowyn Snow of Austin, TX, Aliyah Snow, Autumn Snow, Izak Snow, Aubryanne Snow, Ezekiel Snow, Elliana Snow, Everleigh Snow, Ariomi Snow, Eden Snow, and Ocean Snow of Canyon Lake, TX; her mother, Ruth Deutschlander of Thorp, WI; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dale & Jean Snow of Fowlerton, IN; her siblings, Jeff (Diane) Deutschlander of Stanley, WI, Jill (Greg) Hoff of Thorp, WI, and Jennifer (Steve) Vorpahl of Chippewa Falls, WI; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, friends, and her beloved dog, Sebastian. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Deutschlander and her brother-in-law, Christopher Snow.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16th at Harvestime Church in Eau Claire, WI. A second service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 22nd at Freedom Fellowship Church in New Braunfels, TX.
