Julius Wetz

Julius Jay Wetz of Spring Branch, Texas passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, at the age of 87 years old. Jay could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He was an entrepreneur with a strong work ethic. He worked for the railroad and fire department prior to starting up his successful cookware business. He loved dancing and live music, especially Polka and Tejano. He and his wife, Billie, were very active in their Polka Club. Jay and Billie were high school sweethearts and married for 59 years prior to her passing in 2011. When Jay and Billie retired to their home in Spring Branch, he took an active role in the community and served on the Board of Commissioners as the President of Comal County Emergency Services District #1 for several years. Family was the pivotal essence of Jay’s life. He was proud and honored to be the patriarch, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to our family. He will forever be remembered for his big smile, hearty laugh, and dedication to his family. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us. He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Wetz. Jay is survived by his three children, Robert Wetz and wife Debra, Thomas Allen Wetz, and James Douglas Wetz and wife Sharon; six grandchildren, Tina Schoenfeldt, Tiffany Miller, Shelley Cutaia, Jeanette Pazda, Gayla Wetz, and Jamie Bowers; and six great grandchildren, Jordan Cutaia, Taylor Schoenfeldt, Jeremy Cutaia, Wyatt Schoenfeldt, Adriana Miller, and Cheyenne Schoenfeldt. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 14 at 12:00 pm at Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels with Rev. Warren Beemer officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble on Monday, November 15 at 2:00 pm.
