Karen Marie Magsam

Karen Marie Magsam passed away peacefully with her family by her side and went to heaven to be with her mother and son on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Karen was born April 10, 1960 in San Antonio, TX to Roderick Magsam and Margaret Terry Magsam. Karen pursued her dream of becoming a chef and loved planning and preparing meals for everyone. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Magsam and son, Dustin Cichon. Survivors include her husband, Jon Joffray; daughters, Monica Symchych and husband, Tim and Stephanie Cichon and husband, Kevin; son, Clayton Cichon; grandchildren, Jakob, Kyler, Kolten, Landon, Kendall and Alek; father, Roderick Magsam, and brothers, Jeff and Randy Magsam. Her love, humor, and dedication to her family and friends will be sorely missed. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel, 1254 Business 35 N.

I hope u find a smile somewhere, somehow- especially in between the tears that fall-For the Love, the Life Karen brought to each soul she touched. Her Smile was special… That laugh unforgettable… Her opinions/her thoughts…. wheewww Catch her on a good day. I know she would be saying something rt now 2 change our tears 2 a smile, laugh- Or let me tell this/story…Or do u remember this….(I tried 2 forget or Had forgotten)But not Karen…she remembered!!!! 1 thing I will never Forget is My Friend Karen…. I was blessed to have met a good hearted person and made a great friend with Karen. She welcomed me into her life and withheld judgement, all the while giving me free advice. I only wish we could have continued to make great memories. It was a blessing to see her, 7/13/2011 at Bezdek’s. I know her dog is missing her 2… Santos Martinez
I know that she is in a better place and your heart will heal as time goes by. Remember that she will live in your heart and she would want you to keep on living. My prayers and thoughts are with you and her family.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you, John, your family, and Karen’s family. We know that Karen was a wonderful person and she showed this whenever she came across the street to visit or baked us cookies. She never had a negative thing to say…and we appreciate the opportunity to get to know her in this world and in the next.

To Jon and all of Karen’s family…I want to extend my deepest sympathies to you all. Karen was a wonderful person – and like the rest of us had our moments. But the thing I remember best about her is that laugh…it was infectious to anyone around her. I remember her and I getting upset with tourists and the big boss man…but we would grip to each other then later sit on the porch and blow off steam…many weekend evenings were spent hanging out there with lots of laughs. In fact, I think she won lots of dollars off me playing liars poker out front. I hope that where she is she knows what she meant to a lot of people. We will miss you Karen, your stories, your laugh and most of all being part of my extended family – the Bezdek’s Blondes! Much love to you all!
Jon, Monica, Stephanie, and Clayton, my thoughts and prayers are with you now. I have such fond, wonderful memories with all of you. Karen was such a natural beauty, and her laugh was the best. She lifted me up so many times when I was down, let her lift you up now. Rejoice in her life! God bless you all.

Life is fueled by fond memories. Karen, you touched our hearts and lives. I will never forget the memories of Bezdek’s and what seemed like never ending summer! Keep sharing your sunshine! You are loved and missed.
