“Nikki” Karla Nicole Dean 11-09-1983 12-08-22 Karla Nicole Dean “Nikki”, age 39, passed away on December 8, 2022 in Austin, Texas. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Dezi Dean of Roswell, New Mexico; her mother and step-father, Tina and Marcus Purtle and children Jerry, Jason and Leslie Purtle of New Braunfels, Texas; her father, Mark Dean of Montgomery, Alabama; her sister and brother-in-law, Whitney and Ryan Conroy and children Damien and Jaxson Conroy of Massapequa, New York; brother Nathan Gleason of Knoxville, Tennessee along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and loved ones. Born 11-9-1983 in Flowood, Mississippi. Nikki later moved to New Braunfels where she graduated from New Braunfels High School in 2002, Participating as member of the flag team, serving as the Unicorn mascot and a member of Business Professionals of America and Student Council. Nikki also excelled in Jump Rope as she participated and won many competitions. Possessing a love of Theatre and Dance as evidenced in her participation in Herman Sons Dance from sixth to eleventh grades. Nikki started working at Chick-fil-a in high school where she advanced to the position of Marketing Manager for several years. Continuing her Education, later earned an Associate's Degree from San Antonio Community College in Business. Nikki's greatest love, was her daughter Dezi "The Light of Her Life" and times spent with Family and Friends. A kind and giving soul, Nikki never met a stranger. Her beauty and loving personality will forever be with those blessed to have known her. Oh... Nikki’s eyes her smile and little laugh. She is forever loved and missed.   7. I have so many memories, they keep playing over and over again. From dancing, and you trying to teach me basketball, lol. Family gatherings, Nikki would always be there to make an appearance! Nikki was like a sister to me growing up during the craziness moments of our lives… teenage, school days, lol! Nikki was there for me through it all, and I was there for her. We even went to each other try outs… she hated hearing the same songs over and over again, but she went for me!! Haha! That’s what I’m holding on to, those moments…
    To Dezi-doo, Mom, little sisi, Aunt Tammy, Chrissy and to you all, I love yall so much!!! I am missing her already. Sending yall the biggest hugs ever!!! I love you Sisi

  13. Nikki was an amazing woman even when we were at a low point in life she had that bright beautiful smile on her face. She talked about how she loved her daughter so much and she wished she would have been there more but she didn’t hesitate to show everyone pictures and videos of her baby girl. She was so proud of Dez. I watched the struggle with her self and I cheered for her. I will miss her so much. 😢 just can’t make myself believe it is true. Watch over me Nikki. You are missed. RIP
