Katherine Belle Doyle, age 100, and a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Katherine was born on January 22, 1916. She was the oldest child of Clyde and Verena Broussard and the oldest grandchild of Joseph and Mary Belle Broussard of Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from Saint Mary's College in 1936. Katherine Belle was married to Gerald Purcell Doyle on December 30, 1939. She was a loving and supportive spouse and mother. At the time of her death she was the Matriarch of the large Broussard clan. When she was 94 she moved to New Braunfels. She loved music, walking, playing tennis, bridge, meeting new friends, and traveling to interesting places. She is survived by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Donovan of Houston; sons, Peter G. Doyle and wife Poppy, James E. Doyle and his wife, Terzah, all of Houston and Thomas G. Doyle of Austin; daughters, Susan Dunigan and husband Michael of Pampa and K. Belle Conway of New Braunfels; daughter-in-law, Theresa Doyle of Houston; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the lovely caregivers who took care of their mother during these last few weeks. A Memorial Mass will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 138 W. Austin in New Braunfels. A reception will follow at The River Venue, 561 Oasis St., New Braunfels. (Turn right on McKenna Avenue, behind Mamacita's restaurant).   1. Katherine will be greatly missed. She was an inspiration to all her bridge playing friends…all of us senior citizens would hope to be just like her at 100! She was the definition of a lady. Thoughts and prayers with her family.

  8. Katherine Belle was one of the classiest ladies I have ever known! We enjoyed having her as our neighbor and friend. She was so caring and genuinely such a nice person. Patio Drive will not be the same without Katherine, she will be missed by this family.

  9. Mrs. Doyle was such a fun woman! She knew exactly what she wanted, how she wanted and when. She made us laugh every time we got to see her. It was such a pleasure working for her over the years and wish I knew more people like her and her family. I will miss seeing her and loving smile.
