Louis G. Ortiz, a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Kirkwood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 72. Louis was born on September 18, 1945 in New Braunfels to Fritz Ortiz and Anita Gonzales Ortiz. Louis retired from Western Railroad after 25-years of dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Victoria Ortiz, on March 26, 2015; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his sons, Aaron Ortiz and wife, Melissa, Jaime Ortiz and Gilbert Munoz; grandchildren, Matteo Mata, Aarissa Ortiz, Jennifer and Ryan Munoz; brothers, David, Alfred and Jimmy Ortiz; sisters, Alice, Janie, Rosalee, Lucy, Vicky and Dolly. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 PM later the same afternoon at Hill Country Memorial Gardens. Please note: There will not be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. All wishing to attend the graveside service are to meet at the cemetery at 3:00 PM.
