Manuela S. Villanueva

Manuela S. Villanueva, 92, of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at her home in New Braunfels. Born on June 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Clara Sirio.
Manuela is survived by her children, Sylvia Mireles and her husband Juan, Elvira Moreno and her husband Eustorgio, and Johnny Villanueva and his wife Linda; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Hernandez, Gregoria Paiz, Anita Farias and Nativida Zavala. In addition to her parents, Manuela was preceded in death by her husband, Augustin Garcia; daughter, Mary Ann Rodriguez; sons, Jesus Villanueva and Frank Moncada, US Army, Ret.
Pallbearers will be: Johnnie Rodriguez, Jr., Roger Rodriguez, Izack Villarreal, Ralph Moncada, Jesse Villanueva, Jr., and Ruben Rosales.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass beginning at 2:00 PM. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday. All wishing to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass on Friday are asked to meet at the church. Manuela was the sweetest other grandma to my children. She cared for them with love and tenderness like they were her own. She will live forever in our hearts. We have many thanks to give God for her life and I always prayed that she was comfortable and that her pain was bearable. I’m sorry that she endured so many tragedies in her life. God must have one of the best rooms in his palace for her.
