  5. Margaret was my sweet neighbor for many years. I have memories of her raking the driveway every day bc she kept her modest home extremely neat as a pin. We shared the love of flowers together and I cherish the hugs we shared throughout the years even though my Spanish skills were funny at best. Oh and not to forget the wonderful tamales she shared with me every Christmas. I laugh every time I hear joyful music from her Mexican culture bc it reminds me of Mother’s Day each year when at 2:00 a.m. her son and friends would play guitars and sing outside her bedroom window across from mine. I enjoyed waking up to the tribute to a selfless Mom each year. I moved in 2004 but each visit back to New Braunfels included a must see Margarita my dear neighbor. I saw her in Sept and we both cried and hugged together over her loss of Rene to Covid. Having lost my son years earlier I knew the pain we shared even though language was a struggle for us both. I came back specifically to see Margarita on March 25 because I knew her anguish was overcoming her during our brief past visit. I’m sad to say I was to late to say goodbye and get one last hug from a lady and neighbor I cared about. My condolences Sylvia. Peace to you and your children. Your Mom was a blessing to me as well and I just wanted you to know that I’m so sorry for your loss.
