Mario Chiarizia

Mario Chiarizia, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday evening, January 30, 2022 at the age of 85. Mario was born on July 29, 1936 in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy to the late Giovanni Chiarizia and Maria Antonia Pezzente Chiarizia. Mario lived an adventurous life; he grew up in Italy, lived in Fance and United States. He was a trapezist, lumberjack, truck driver (hauling wine), baker and a restaurant owner. Mario was passionate about wine making and enjoyed being outdoors tending to his grape vines. He was happiest when he was making and drinking wine and spending time with his family. He enjoyed making pizzas and baked goods to share with family and friends. He was a kind and gentle man who always had a smile on his face. He adored his grandchildren and spent as much time as he could with them, he never miss miss a school event or performance. He was preceded in death by his parents Giovanni and Maria Chiarizia, wife, Maria Giovanna Chiarizia, brother, Raffaele Chiarizia, and sister, Serafina. Survivors include his children, Lillian Nabours and her husband Terry of New Braunfels; Lara Chiarizia and husband Bobby Grisham of San Antonio; grandchildren, Rebecca Nabours and Grant Chiarizia Grisham and brother, Luigi Chiarizia. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you celebrate the remembrance of Mario’s life by having a glass of wine in his honor.
