Michael A. Gonzalez, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away Thursday evening, May 6, 2021 after a tough battle with cancer at the age of 51. Michael was born on August 18, 1969 in Austin to the late Michael Gonzalez and Baudelia Carmona Gonzalez of Austin, TX. Michael was a devoted husband and was employed in the restaurant and tire automotive industries for most of his professional career. Michael was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed daily cruises around New Bruanfels listening to freestyle music with his late wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Baudelia Gonzalez and by his beloved wife, Sylvia Gonzalez, who passed away on August 19, 2020. Survivors include his brothers David Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez, Jr. (Priscilla) and sister Carmen Gonzalez Simmons. Michael is also survived by his step children, Joe Ortega (Crystal), Veronica Smith (Salvador), Mishka Ortega (Summer). Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Internment date and time to be announced.
