Theo Perkins Barrett, 90, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in New Braunfels. Born on June 25, 1931 in Eola, TX she was the daughter of the late John Irvin Perkins and Vinnie Velma Oleson Perkins. Theo is survived by her children, Karan Williams, Gayla Maypole, Traci Stewart and Cecil Williams; her grandchildren, Savannah Ponce, Benjamin Maypole, and Noah Maypole; her two great grand children, Dylan and Declan Ponce; and her youngest brother, Gene Perkins. In addition to her parents, Theo was preceded in death by her late husband Morris Barrett, Her younger brothers Bill Perkins and Don Perkins Theo was interested in genealogy and had researched her family’s ancestors back many generations. She loved traveling and visited most of the State capital buildings in the western and southern states with her family as well as camping in many national parks. In 1973 she and her four children ages 17, 9, 8 and 6 hiked 350 miles on the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain, GA to Roan Mountain, TN. Theo was active in Eastern Star, Rebeccas, and Civil air patrol. Through the course of her life she was an administrative assistant for many years a manager and a business owner. A small, informal service will be held from 3:00-4:00 PM at Lux Funeral Home on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
