Olga Monceballez Silva

Olga Monceballez Silva, a resident of San Antonio, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday evening, April 8, 2019 at the age of 74. Olga was born on October 4, 1944 in New Braunfels to the late Francisco Castillo and Virginia Montanez. Olga retired from McKenna Hospital. During her life, she was a wonderful devoted caring mother and grandmother; who loved unconditionally. She loved to travel and she enjoyed her Bingo. She knew how to live. Olga was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reuben Silva; son, Miguel Angel Monceballez and her sister, Ofelia Reimer. Survivors include her children, Melinda Fischer and husband, Rick, Martin Monceballez and wife, Michelle, Magdalena Monceballez McKinnis and husband, Edward, Mark Monceballez and wife, Julie, and the late Reuben Silva's 4 sons and spouses along with her 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. In addition, Olga is survived by her two sisters, Oralia Valadez and husband, Anival and Hortencia Valadez, late husband Abel. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery on Peace Ave. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday morning. All wishing to attend the Funeral Mass are asked to meet at the church at 9:45 AM on Friday morning.
