Oscar Leal Barboza, age 67, passed on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Oscar was born on July 24, 1955 in New Braunfels, Texas to Tone and Juanita Barboza.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Oralia Barboza; and brothers, Robert and Julian Barboza. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Elizabeth G. Barboza; children, Mark A. Barboza (Crystal), Mary Isabel Espinoza (Mike), and Oscar Barboza, Jr.; grandchildren, Raymond Diaz, Jr., Sierra Barboza, Oscar Barboza, III, Rhianna Barboza, Christopher Barboza, Joe Ryan Barboza, TJ Moreno, and Lorenzo Barboza; brothers, Ricky Barboza (Olivia) and David Barboza (Rosie) and sisters, Melba Cruz (Chencho) and Melinda Gonzalez (Joe). Oscar is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Oscar Barboza, Jr., Raymond Diaz, Jr., Ricky Barboza, David Barboza, Mike Espinoza, and Eno Cruz.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Holy Family Catholic Church. All Services will conclude at the church.

Oscar was the best father in law that I could have had. He loved his family very much and he would drop everything for his grandkids whenever they needed him. I will miss his jokes and just spending time with him and the family playing cards, bingo or just listening to music. He was a very good handy man and very wise when it came to giving advice. Q: What will you miss most about Oscar?
A: In the morning of march of 2020 , on Saturday when my dad went to work, pop’s would be there. I would always ask “grandpa can you make me some egg’s please “. Pop’s would say of course Joeryan.
Me and my pop’s would be eating egg’s on the table. A few hours after we ate some egg’s pop’s would make me some pudding and me and my pop’s would be there on the kitchen counter making the pudding. After he was done I would love to eat the pudding.That is my favorite memory and what I am gunna miss about my pop’s. I love you grandpa/pop’s. Rest in peace pop’s ❤️🙏 will always love you pop’s.
