Patricia "Patty" Gomez, 46, of New Braunfels, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014 in San Antonio. Born on August 29, 1967 in New Braunfels, she was the daughter of Mary Gomez and the late Julian V. Gomez, Jr. In addition to her mother, Patty is survived by her son, Joseph Anthony Gomez; siblings, Linda Hernandez, Julian Gomez, III, Anita Soto, Fred Gomez and his wife Barbara, Roger Gomez and his wife Jessica and Javier Gomez and his wife Jennifer; nieces and nephews, Andrea Shields, Sonja Howard, Fernando Hernandez, Jr., Alyssandra Gomez, Kathryn Gomez, Gilbert Soto, Katiana Gomez, Julian C. Gomez, Gina Gomez, Jenna Gomez, Dallas Gomez, Tucker Gomez, and Taylor Gomez; Great nieces and nephews, Robert Howard, III, Jada Howard, Kayleigh Cisneros, Phoebe Shields and Lilith Hernandez. In addition to her father, Patty was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Benito and Ofilia Castilleja; and paternal grandparents, Julian C. Gomez, Sr. and Manuela Gomez.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Mass will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at St.'s Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery II on FM 482. I was Patty’s VOCT teacher at NBHS and all of my memories of Patty are punctuated with that big smile she gave everyone! Patty was always happy and was a friend to everyone. Her beautiful spirit will live on in her beloved son. Thank you, Lord, for allowing me to share the wonder of her beautiful life and I lift up Patty’s family in their sorrow. May you, Lord, surround them with the peace that you are wrapping around Patty right now!
