Patsy McDaniel Brent, 80, of New Braunfels, died Monday, January 10, 2022 at her home in the presence of family. She was born on February 26, 1941 in Wiergate, TX to Rachel Virginia McDaniel and William Robert McDaniel. Survivors include her husband, Bob Brent of New Braunfels; sons, Gary Westbrook and his wife Vicki of New Braunfels; Phil Westbrook and his wife Vicki of Nederland; grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson and her husband Alex of San Antonio; Kelsey Weiss and her husband Eric of New Braunfels; Adam Westbrook and his wife Johnna of Nederland; Andrew Westbrook and his wife Kristal of Nederland; Alex Westbrook and his wife Shelby of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Grace, Liliana and Clara Johnson of San Antonio; Lincoln Weiss of New Braunfels; Brink, Summer, Claire, Garrett, and Carter Westbrook of Nederland; brother, Ray McDaniel and his wife Ann of Carthage; niece, Kim Housley; nephews, Alan McDaniel, Mike McDaniel and Brian McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother Winfred “Mac” McDaniel. After graduating high school in Burkeville, TX, Patsy raised her sons Gary and Phil. She was the neighborhood Mom where everyone felt welcomed and loved. Pat became a Registered Nurse in 1972 and worked in the Labor and Delivery area of St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont eventually being promoted to supervisor of the entire department. She became a legal medical consultant, rehab hospital director and health services program director. She and Bob purchased and operated the Prince Solms Inn located in New Braunfels for many years. Patsy and Bob spent many years traveling the country by car and RV. She enjoyed living life on their 5 acre ranch, sitting on the porch while watching and feeding the numerous wildlife. Pat was known for her loving kindness and especially her deep love of family. She spoke of each and every person by name, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook, tell stories and make people laugh. Her love, warmth, personality, friendship and laugh will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service is pending and being planned for a time and location that is convenient for family, friends and travel.
