Paul J. Anderson

paul anderson
Paul J. Anderson, age 83, passed away in his home in New Braunfels early Friday morning March 1st, 2019 surrounded by family. Paul was born on December 10, 1935 in Willmar, MN to the late Julius Anderson and Mabel Johnson Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his two sisters, Helen Linder and Yvonne Casserly. He is survived by his loving wife of 52-years, Cynthia J. Anderson; children, Michelle Brockwell and husband, Rob and Nicole Schulze and husband, Regan; grandchildren, Kalen, Lauren, Kathryn, Garrett, Courtney and Ryan and great granddaughter, Harper; and numerous nieces and nephews. After graduating from Willmar High School, Paul served in the United States Navy for four years. He then attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He joined International Multifoods soon after, spending time in Venezuela where he met and married the love of his life, Cindy, in 1967 and started a family. In 1978, they moved from Caracas to Wimbledon Estates in Spring, TX where Paul worked in Houston for Geosource Inc. and Goodman Manufacturing until his retirement in 2002. He and Cindy moved to New Braunfels, TX in December of 2017 to be near family. Paul had two loves of his life, one of which was tennis. He played on his high school and college teams and spent 42 years in Wimbledon Estates playing with friends and family. He topped it all off by playing in the USTA Section Championships, making it to the finals twice. His greatest love was family. Paul couldn't have been prouder of or more dedicated to his daughters, supporting them at every turn, from tennis matches to horse shows to marathons and every University of Texas event. Weddings, baptisms, holidays, anniversaries and family trips made up the fabric of his life. But, nothing made him happier than attending mass with his entire family at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community, his parish of 42 years in Spring. This was a life-well lived by a fine man who was loved by all who knew him. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, March 25th at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Inurnment of Mr. Anderson’s cremains to include military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to: Casa Juan Diego, P. O. Box 70113, Houston, TX 77270 / www.cjd.org.
