Ramon "Reno" Cantu, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 77. "Reno" was born on February 17, 1935 in Comal County, TX to Daniel Cantu, Sr. and Maria Escobar Cantu. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jesus Cantu and by a sister, Helen Flores. Survivors include his beloved wife of 27-years, Guadalupe Caballero Cantu; brothers, Amador E. and Daniel Cantu, Jr.; sisters, Delia Villanueva, Nettie Cardenas and Esther Garza. In addition, Mr. Cantu is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2012, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, all of which will take place at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. A procession will depart Lux Funeral Home Chapel at 9:45 AM on Friday, March 16, 2012 for a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father James Wasser-Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
