Raymond "Chopper" Sandoval

raymond sandoval
Raymond Robert “Chopper” Sandoval went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. He was born on October 25, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas. Raymond was employed by Dean Word and enjoyed driving his potbelly truck. In his younger years, his passion was pitching for The Travelers and the OLPH Church softball teams. He also enjoyed shooting pool and was on a dart team. A fond memory of his sisters is, during Lent, Raymond would go out of his way to bring fish plates from a favorite restaurant in San Antonio. That was Raymond, such a loving and giving person to his family and friends. He would give his last dollar to those in need. Raymond is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Aurelia Barrientes and his father, David Joe Chapa. He is survived by his son, Raymond Robert Sandoval, Jr.; granddaughters, Ariana and Elexia; grandsons, Raymond Robert, III and Ryan Sandoval; mother, Norma Barrientes; sisters, Ruby Noriega and her husband George, Rosalie “Matsie” Yanas and her husband George, Sr., Norma “Jeana” Garcia and her husband Jesus, Jr., and Cindy Chapa and Mike Quintana; former brother-in-law, Gregorio Castilleja, Jr.; nephews, Gregory, III, Juan Carlos, and Gerald Castilleja, Jeffrey, George, Jr., and Steven Yanas, Nathaniel and Jason Garcia, and Paul Flores, Jr.; and niece, Brittany De Leon. Also surviving are 10 great nephews and 5 great nieces. A viewing will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home with a procession to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery.

6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
