Rito Alvarado, a resident of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Senior Care Nursing Home in Austin at the age of 86. Rito was born on May 22, 1929 in Pflugerville, TX to the late Odilon Alvarado and Juanita Pacheco Alvarado. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired after 21-years of honorable service. Rito was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Angelina Alvarado; brothers, Juan and Arnulfo Alvarado and by his sisters, Theodora, Paula and Crispina Alvarado. Survivors include his children, Rito A. Alvarado and wife, Brenda, Eleazar Alvarado, David Alvarado and wife, Becky, Alicia Alvarado and spouse, Erika and Dan Alvarado and wife, Claudia; brothers, Jesus, Antonio, Guadalupe, Odilon, Jr. and Eulalio Alvarado; sisters, Maria Plancarte, Anita Escamilla and Mary Ann Serrano. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 am. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 pm on Wednesday at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
