Robert Carr was a follower of Jesus Christ and has gone home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at his home in New Braunfels. Born on June 4, 1936 in Channing, Texas to Edwin M. and Patricia R. Carr, he was the middle of seven children. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sisters, Ann Murtishaw, and Jean McDonald; and brothers, Randall Carr, and Don Carr. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Carr; son, Keith Carr and his wife Cyndi; daughter, Alica Halstrom and her husband Tom; sister, Carolyn Freeman; and brother, Paul Carr and his wife Barbara. Robert received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech and practiced as a registered engineer for 30 years in several states, England, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia and was also a commodity and stock trader. Robert was a good, hard working man, a caring father, and deeply felt that his life was made complete by his relationship with his loving wife. A celebration of life and resurrection will be held at the First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

  1. My condolences to the Carr families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Robert. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.
