Robert Patrick Toomey
March 21, 1949 ~ October 1, 2019
Robert P. Toomey went home to our heavenly father on Oct 1, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert C. Toomey and Ruth L (Spiker) of Akron, Ohio. Robert is survived by his wife of 40 years Katherine S (Bell), children Dana (Ohio), Tammy (TN), Heather of New Braunfels, Derek of Canyon Lake, Kaitlin of Canyon, Lake and Kirsten of New Braunfels, Texas and multiple grandchildren.
Robert entered the Marine Corp in 1966 and served two tours in Vietnam, receiving several accommodations for his service. After serving 9 years, Robert managed several service stations in Akron, Ohio, and eventually owning a service center in Tallmadge, Ohio. In 1991, Robert closed his service center to return to school and majored in IT and finally started a career at Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, where he retired.
Robert enjoyed several hobbies, including woodworking, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and his grandchildren. Military Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Fort Sam Houston TBD. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Wounded Warriors of America is much appreciated.

Bev and I were saddened to read of the passing of Bob. In his early years he did a lot of work for me through Ohio Bell. We both went in different directions with our respective careers and lost touch over the years. Our condolences to Katherine and the rest of the family. I’m sure he will be missed by all.
