Ronnie K. "Pete" Martin

Ronnie K. 'Pete' Martin, 66, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, he graduated from Velma-Alma High School and The University of Central Oklahoma. Pete enjoyed a successful 40 year career in the oil and gas drilling industry. Throughout those years he made many life long friends, especially those at Cactus Drilling in Oklahoma City. There are many stories from family events to Oklahoma Sooner football games to industry functions that will keep his memory alive in our hearts. If the measure of a man is how you handle adversity then he was a gentle giant. For that reason, in lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association would be suggested. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, William Glen and Allene Tince Strickland Martin. He is survived by his wife, Denise; brothers Darrell Ray (Bev), and Larry (Dawn); mother-in-law, Marie Rose Billeaudeaux; brothers-in-law, Dale Billeaudeaux (Penny), Brian Billeaudeaux (Terry) and Gary Billeaudeaux (Cristy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Resolute Hospital for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 1pm, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Lux Funeral Home Chapel.
