Rose Marie Dawkins

Rose Marie Dawkins age 85 departed this life on March 11, 2022. She was born June 27, 1936 in Jefferson County, AL and was the daughter of Johnnie and Ellee Jones. She was married to pastor Louis C Dawkins on December 19, 1953 and supported his ministry until his passing through playing the piano and accordion during church services. She grew up in Birmingham, AL and attended Shades Valley High School. After moving to New Braunfels, TX in 1980 she said she never wanted to live anywhere else besides Texas. One of her favorite things to do was to play the piano and sing church hymns as she loved music. She also loved to travel as she visited Europe, Alaska and most of the states in the US. She loved to have fun and entertain people as she was always telling jokes, saying something funny or dressing up like ‘Lucille Ball’. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis C Dawkins, both her parents, brothers Collis, Steve, Edward Jones and her sister Ellen Bearden. She is survived by son Roy Dawkins and his wife Janice, son DeWayne Dawkins and his wife Rachel. Grandchildren Beau Dawkins and his wife Deseret, Kianna Thibodeaux and her husband Cliff, Derek Dawkins and his wife Megan, Chase Dawkins and Stormie Dawkins. Great Grandchildren Codi Schutze, Kyllysta Dawkins, Declan Dawkins, Oaklyn Thibodeaux, Reagan Thibodeaux. Public visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following immediately at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
