  1. I was so sad to get the news about my hunting buddy and friend. Unfortunately I didn’t get to know the family except Helen. Sam was a character who could be at home with an automobile mogul or punching cows and he loved to hunt in-between. He was a true Texan who always seemed relaxed and could tell “tall tales” with the best of ‘em. When sitting around a campfire spinning yarns, tall boots were in order. He was especially at home hunting in the hill country on Arthur and Allene Mandry’s spread. I can’t express my sadness at his passing and he will be greatly missed. Barbara and I offer our sincere prayers and condolences to Helen and the family.

  2. Sam was always a very nice person, Open and ready to accept near all as a friend. I was fortunate enough to have shared his company fairly regularly over the last few years. I’m certain he will be along side for a long time when visiting our old haunts. My condolences to his family. He spoke of each of You often.

  3. So that Sammy is able to bring as much joy to peoples lives as he has to all of yours. Love you all.

  4. Easter Sunday, 2021 Helen and family, Sam’s Celebration of Life was beautiful and so well represents this joyous person of Sam. His family, children and pastors spoke so beautiful of him and his life reflecting his persona. Sam was always happy and cheerful and imitating the Joy of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that was radiated so well today, this Easter Sunday. I was blessed to have had Sam in my life. Thanks to his family for sharing him with us in the short time we are here on this earth. He will be in eternal salvation to share his joy with all for all time. Warmest Regards, Gary Spence
