In the early morning of Sunday, October 23, 2022, Stephen “Scott” Bittick, 61, of Houston, Texas, passed away at home in New Braunfels, Texas, surrounded by his family and his loving daughters, Cameron & Stephanie Bittick. Scott was born on March 10, 1961 to Gene Hoyt Bittick and Vanda Sue Scott in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Spring Branch High School in 1979. He attended Sam Houston State University and was a member of Delta Tau Delta for a year before he continued his college education at Southwest Texas University.
Scott gained career experience and formed lifelong connections with some of his closest friends by working in Construction and Pool & Spa businesses. These experiences encouraged him to move from Texas to New England, where he would go on to work for Xerox Engineering Systems for eight years before finding his true passion in Graphic Design. With his natural talent for salesmanship and his love of artistic expression, Scott had found his calling.
On September 21, 1991, Scott married Elizabeth Jeanne Schoenfisch in Stamford, Connecticut. Scott and Elizabeth enjoyed several years of traveling to places such as Cancun, England, Bermuda, and many more, before starting their family. In October 1998, they welcomed their first daughter, Cameron Elizabeth Bittick, and on his 39th birthday, they welcomed their second daughter, Stephanie Helena Bittick.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, Gene Hoyt Bittick, his younger brother, Bradley Gene Bittick, and his grandparents, Albert Bittick & Elizabeth Waller Bittick, and Morris & Hazel Scott.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Cameron Bittick of Las Vegas and Stephanie Bittick of Huntsville, Texas, his mother and step-father, Vanda Babich and Jim Babich of New Braunfels, Texas, his younger sister and brother-in-law, Sherry Maloy and Ed Maloy of New Braunfels, Texas, his sister-in-law, Jannie Bittick of Marshall, Texas, and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and many loved ones.

Scott will be missed. I remember him from the best part of his life, when his daughters were born.
We had some amazing family parties with Scott, Beth, Tracy and Jason. Good times!

The memories that we had at turn 1 at the track will last for some time….Iwe rocked it up there at every race and Friday I heard that you were in the hospital and I was gonna try to give you a ring but that didn’t happen…i then got word today that you had passed away From Wanda…whenever we worked that far and you were tired some I told you to go sit and relax for a bit and that I got it taken care of…we did this at every race we worked together…now your not here anymore it won’t be the same up there…I’ll miss you my friend and keep watching us from up there…RIP my friend
Scott was my superbisor at turn 1 for all the races, I enjoyed his sense of humor even when he hadn’t slept well the night before. I will miss him sorrly,

To the family and friends. Like you I’m saddened by Scott’s passing. I also must say I was fortunate to spend a few hours with him while at Methodist Hospital. We laughed, cried and embraced our times together. I was happy to here he was back in his beloved state of Texas. And in an area many of us cherish-New Braunfels. We reminisced on our times in Austin in the 80’s. Our many trips to Gruene Hall to see people like Jerry Jeff Walker. Never a dull moment. HA! Another time never to be forgotten was coming back from Padre Island. Scott’s red corvette, T-tops off selecting songs and having the other person sing. We were both terrible but laughed for 2 plus hours. We’ll all miss his smile and sense of humor. And I thank the Lord for our short time together. It was a pleasure to see Sherry again and meet Cameron. I’m sorry to have not met Stephanie. Our day will come and we will all celebrate life again in Heaven thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for allowing me a moment to celebrate Scott.

Q: What was Stephen like as a child?
A: Scott was a daring kid we use to jump our bikes off the hills in the woods behind his house just like Evel Knievel.. He was a rascal plus the girls loved him up at the Baptist church his Mom would take us to Sunday school my Mom let us go even though Iwe were Catholic because they were such wonderful family.. I will miss you dearly best childhood friend. Recently Scott came and spent the weekend with us and Elke and I really had a great time he brought to the house this mother in law plant for Elke she placed it as the center piece of our atrium what thoughtful jester of him until we meet again Stay cool Scott

Scott was my close and dear friend for 30 years. We were at each others weddings. My wife Francisca and I were at the hospital the day beautiful Cameron and Stephanie were born. We vacationed together, celebrated birthdays and holidays together, we went to ballgames and concerts together and we supported each other during hard times as well. He had a light in his eye and was happiest around good friends and his darling daughters. He was my brother. His passing will leave a hole in me that will never be fully filled and Francisca and I will miss him always.
