Susan Simpson

Susan Simpson, 59, entered eternal rest on February 23, 2023, in New Braunfels, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Richard D. Simpson and Josephine Simpson; her son, Freddy Guerra; and her brother, James C. Simpson. Susan is survived by her daughter Alexandria Salazar (LeAnthony), her boyfriend Scott Lentz; and siblings Sandra Runyan (Jim) and Kenny Simpson (Minerva); and by 6 nieces and nephews. Susan was born in Midland, Texas, on August 18, 1963. She is a 1981 graduate of Raymondville High School. After high school, Susan started working at HEB grocery store and took classes at both the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, TX and at the Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, TX. During her time at HEB grocery, she moved up the ranks from drug store customer service representative to drug store manager and then up to the loss prevention manager. After departing HEB, she moved on to be the store supervisor and sales person at Kraft Mobiltel in 1999. Here she consistently exceeded her sales goal by well over 150%, even winning various awards including the 1999-2000 salesperson of the year in every category. After her departure from Kraft in 2001, Susan started work at Culligan Water in Seguin, TX. Here she started as an office assistant and in her time there moved through the ranks to office manager. She worked at Culligan until she was no longer able to work in 2021. As her career history shows she always gave 100% in everything she did. She worked hard and always had the determination to be the best she could be at whatever she put her mind to. Susan was a very driven individual who dedicated her life to family and caring for those around her. She always made time for her children’s various school and extracurricular activities. She selflessly took a back seat to make sure her family was taken care of and that she was available to help and uplift them in any way they needed. Susan loved going on adventures in the hill country to look at wildflowers, doing puzzles, and baking. She loved all animals and had several cats, 2 dogs, and even some turtles she had taken care of up until their passing. She loved bird watching and was always so excited to see deer grazing near her house or horses in the hill country running free. Susan’s family would like to thank all who have kept Susan in their thoughts and prayers as well as for the gifts of kindness and support during this time.
