Theodora Rios

THEODORA "DORA" RIOS Theodora "Dora" Rios, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Kirkwood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 91. "Dora" was born on February 7, 1921 in Kyle, TX to Tranquillo Mendez and Louisa Tenorio. For most of her working life, Theodora was employed at West Point Pepperell in New Braunfels. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan Rios, who passed away on August 17, 1994; sisters, Andrea Campos and Sophia Partida; brother, Leo Mendez and by a grandson, Eddie Nevarez. Survivors include daughters, Esmeralda Zavala, Minerva Villalpando and husband, Gilbert, Alicia Leon and husband, Luis, and Lucy Rios. In addition, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive "Dora" as well. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 9:30 AM on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Vicente Cemetery in Kyle. Please Note: There will not be a procession from Lux Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday morning. Those wishing to attend both the visitation and Funeral Mass are asked to meet at the church.
