Thomas Eugene Thorpe 1953-2018 Thomas Eugene Thorpe, loving father, brother and son, passed away at his home at the age of 65 in early November. Tom was born on July 14, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas, to Gene and Betty Thorpe. Tom attended College High School in Pittsburgh, Kansas, and graduated from Cole High School at Fort Sam Houston. He attended Southwest Texas State University for two years and graduated from University of North Texas. He worked in the medical field in the New Braunfels area for thirty years. Tom married Michelle Miller (Reed) in 1990 and together they raised their two children, Chrissy and Nick, as well as Joe, Ben and Sarah Miller. Tom was an active fisherman and cyclist, and he loved spending time on Canyon Lake and riding his bike through the winding hills of Central Texas. In his youth, he set several records for the YMCA Pittsburgh swim team that still stand. He loved golf, the Beach Boys, computers and technology in general. Tom was always ready to try out the next tech toy or build a computer for someone in need. Tom always did his best to give a hand to anyone in any way he could. His humor, love and generosity of spirit will be sorely missed. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Gene. He is survived by his mother, Betty; his step-children and children Joe, Ben, Sarah, Chrissy and Nick; his brother Dick; his sister Kellee; his sister and brother-in-law Susan and Jay, and his niece Brianna. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 18 at 2 p.m. at Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels.
