On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Thomas Junior Hernandez, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away at the age of 39. Thomas was born on August 11, 1983 in Victoria, TX, to Mariela Gonzalez and the late Thomas Hernandez, Sr. Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 16 years, Julissa Castillo Hernandez; his mother; Mariela Gonzalez; his sons: Damien, Joel, Jaydan, and Jordan Hernandez; his brothers: Thomas Eugene, Miguel, and Anthony Hernandez; his sisters: April and Eva Hernandez; as well as numerous other family members and friends. In addition to his father, Thomas was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and Otilia Hernandez; maternal grandparents, Teresa and Ismael Gonzalez; uncle, Joel Gonzalez; and sister, Michelle Rene’ Hernandez. Thomas was a loving husband and proud father. He was a man of many passions including, playing video games and sports with his sons, racing RC cars, flying drones, driving go carts, and joining car meets near and far. Thomas was known for being a car enthusiast, specifically Hondas and Miatas. His love for cars began at the young age of 9 years old while swapping out his first car engine alongside his father and grew over the years as he established his own collection of vehicles. When Thomas began his career in Information Technology in 2011, this allowed him to meet those friends he had not yet met. Through the years, he made many friends, life-long friends, friends that became family. His legacy will live in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he touched but never met. On Saturday, March 18, 2023, a visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, at Lux Funeral Home Chapel, 1254 N Business IH 35, New Braunfels, TX 78130, with a service to follow at 3:00 PM.
