Thomas "Tom" Joseph Kelly

Thomas “Tom” Joseph Kelly passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2019. Tom was born on Christmas Day 1969 and was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. Tom Kelly never met a stranger and enjoyed talking with people of all walks of life. He loved living in Texas and, specifically, New Braunfels where he enjoyed the company of countless friends. Tom was everyone’s favorite weatherman and was quick with a rain estimate or a forecast. Like all of us, he had his limitations but his heart held no bounds. He was a proud uncle - so kind and gentle with his nieces and nephews - and loved to care for animals. Tom had high hopes to “strike it rich” with his metal detector in constant operation but his deepest passion may have been in support of local and national EMS, Fire Department, Police and Military personnel with stickers, hats, t-shirts and everything else to show it. He also loved volunteering at the St. Peter and Paul Thrift Store and made many dear friends there. Tom was a gift on Christmas Day and a faithful Catholic who died on the day of the Feast of the Ascension. Evidently, it was his time and although he will be terribly missed we are ever so grateful for the time Thomas Joseph Kelly spent with us. Tom is survived by his parents, Dick and Betty Kelly; his sister Mary Beth Joy and husband Jim, children Luke and Gaby; his sister Kristy Neff and husband Philip, children Ella and Alex; sister Karen Braun and husband John, children Gillian and August. A time to visit with the family will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, followed by a reception in St. Mary’s Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Canyon Lake Fire Department or an animal shelter in Tom’s honor.
