Vergil C. Walker, Jr.

Vergil C. Walker, Jr., age 88, and a resident of Schertz, passed away early Saturday morning, April 17, 2021 at a private care home in Cibolo. Vergil was born on November 1, 1932 in Sinton, TX to the late Vergil C. Walker, Sr. and Eva Custer Walker. He later joined the United States Navy and retired after 21 years of honorable service. He then became a broker in the real estate business. Vergil had a constant concern that everyone he met might know the love of God in Jesus His Son and he was quick to share his faith at every opportunity. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Vergil and Eva Walker; brother, Olen E. Walker, and by his sister, Louise Robison. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan B. Walker; children, Rebekah Burton, Laura Sutherland, John Moore, Jason Ammon (Leslie) and David Ammon (Kimberly); grandchildren, Bryant, Brandon, Savannah, Jenna, John, Tommy, Stephanie, Wyatt, Brooke and Abigail. In addition, Vergil is survived by his brother, Bobby Dean Walker, and beloved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Comal Cemetery.
