Victoria Caballero Ortiz, a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on March 26, 2015 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 65. Victoria was born on April 7, 1949 in New Braunfels to the late Francisco Caballero and Amparo Valdez Caballero. During her working career, Victoria was a clerk for Dollar General. Survivors include her loving husband, Louis Ortiz; sons, Jaime Ortiz and Aaron Louis Ortiz and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Matteo Mata and Aarissa Ortiz; brothers, Francisco Caballero, Jr. and Pablo Caballero; sisters, Rosalinda Mesa and Theresa Caballero. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens.

My sincere condolences to Victoria’s family. I knew “Vita” ever since we attended Lone Star School together. She was a lovely person, always kind and friendly. Rest in peace my dear friend.
