William "Bill" Randall Fugitt

William Randall Fugitt was born September 14, 1946, in Oklahoma City, OK and passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in New Braunfels, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents William Jay Pettee Fugitt and Mary Jane Harris Fugitt, both of Oklahoma City; and his grandparents John Randall and Leah Clementine Harris of Grand Lake, OK; Helen Pettee Fugitt of Oklahoma City; and Carl W. and Mabel Fugitt of Wichita, KS. He graduated from Harding High School, attended the New Mexico Military Institute, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Central Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in Business. He was a U.S. veteran having served with the armed forces in Germany. In the early 1970s he moved to Texas working with the freight/transportation industry for over 40 years in Corpus Christi, Harlingen, McAllen, San Antonio, Austin, and New Braunfels. Recently retired, Fugitt was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed the simplicity of life's offerings. He was an active civic volunteer and member of the New Braunfels Citizens Police Academy, the New Braunfels Newcomers Club, and a lifetime member of the NRA. He is survived by his wife Denice Dodd Fugitt; son Daniel Fugitt and wife Rebecca of New Braunfels; brother Thomas Jay Fugitt of Oklahoma City; and sister Patricia Jane Fugitt of San Antonio. A private burial will be held in Oklahoma City at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.

I knew him in High School and College-for over 40 yrs.We stayed in touch through everything, marriages, divorces, accomplishments, failure-you name it we talked about it. Bill and I talked on a weekly basis about whatever was happening in our lives.He was a true friend in the purest sense. He was one in a million and I valued him and his friendship throughout the years.

  4. I knew Bill for 10 worked with him in the freihgt business. I got to know him not just as a coworker,he became a friend. He was a hard worker and was not afraid to get in the thick of things when he needed to.I enjoyed listening to all his life stories some have become lessons in my life.He will be missed by all that he has left behind no matter what his stories will always live on the ones he had shared with me .MISS YOU BROTHER!!!!!
