In loving memory of George Edward Kay,

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of George Edward Kay, a man whose warmth, dedication and humor touched the lives of all who knew him. George departed peacefully at his Spring Branch, Texas home on January 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79.

George, born on November 19, 1944, in Bellows Falls, Vermont to the late Frank and Lura Kay, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha, of 57 years, daughters Audra Hughes (Robert), Jessica Al-Bwuk (Ali), Stefanie Webber (Hector), 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

George’s commitment to service extended over two decades in the United States Coast Guard and another two in the United States Postal Service. His contributions went beyond duty, leaving an enduring impact on colleagues and peers.

Beyond his professional life, George found joy in the camaraderie of hunting and the challenge of a golf course.

May George rest in eternal peace, leaving us with cherished memories that will forever inspire us.

  1. George was my Chief at The U.S. Coast Guard LORAN station in Estartit, Spain. George mentored me and guided me in my early years as a Coast Guardsman. He helped me to understand what it took to have a successful career. His sense of humor was unmatched. He made me laugh on a daily basis. Sending much love to the entire family.❤️
    Sincerely,
    Ray and Glenys Philyaw
