Marion “Nannie” Gaston, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend from New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Monday, June 30th, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on April 15th, 1945, in Port Arthur, TX, to William Gerald and Frances Daniel.

Marion is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Gaston, who stood by her side through all of life’s many adventures. She was blessed with three sons: Brian (Erin), Jay, & Gary, as well as one daughter, Tracy Granado (Victor). As a proud grandmother, her loving heart lives through her grandchildren: Isaiah, Josiah, Jeremiah, Aleeyah, and Daniel. Marion is also survived by her brother, Jerry Daniel.

Marion discovered her passion for cosmetology and became a hairstylist in her early years. Later, she worked as a self-employed babysitter, earning the affectionate nickname “Nannie” due to her caring heart and the many children she cared for throughout her career.

Deeply involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and activities, Marion was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer supportive encouragement with love, joy, and excitement. Her family was her pride and joy and meant everything to her. She enjoyed sewing, puzzle-making, and volunteering at her church, particularly during Vacation Bible School (VBS). A strong woman of faith, Marion’s favorite bible verse was Isaiah 40:31:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

Marion was a selfless, kind, and loving person. She was always the first to offer help and support to anyone in need. Her uplifting spirit never allowed a bad day to affect her mood! She was a strong and beautiful woman who, like us all, could be a bit sassy, which only added to her charm! Loved by so many, she will be remembered by countless others for the 80 beautiful years she graced this earth.

Marion will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her love, strength, and devotion to her faith and family.
