July 9, 1960 ~ October 26, 2025

Born in: San Antonio, Texas
Resided in: New Braunfels, Texas

Risa Lynn Culpepper joined our Lord and Savior on October 26, 2025, passing away at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas, following a brief illness. She was born on July 9, 1960, to George and Lucille Jonas Weekley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Christopher
Culpepper, and her brother Steven Weekley. She is survived by her son Benjamin Culpepper and wife Kaitlynn, and granddaughter Lucille; her sisters Suzette Saur and her husband Charles, and Melanie Boshart and her husband Rick; her former husband and dear friend, James Culpepper, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Risa was a devoted mother who balanced that with her career as a paralegal. She enjoyed playing board games, especially Scrabble, sharing her sharp wit with her son and others. Risa had a laugh that could fill a room, and she spread her joy to family, friends, and strangers. Often she would give a friendly smile or just say hello to brighten someone’s day. Her hospitality was beyond caring. She was known for opening her home to everyone and anyone. She will be missed immensely by the many lives that she touched.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Gruene United Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 5:00pm with a reception to follow. A burial service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:00am at Comal Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Steve’s Pantry at Gruene United Methodist Church, or of one’s choice.
