Resided in: New Braunfels, Texas

Diana Rose Cantu, 75, passed away on March 4, 2026 in New Braunfels, Texas.  She was born in Los Angeles, California on July 27, 1950, to John and Sabina Duarte.

To know Diana was to understand what it meant to be truly seen and deeply loved. She moved through the world with a heart wide open, leaving behind a trail of laughter and a profound sense of peace rooted in her faith.

As a young mother, she poured her entire soul into her children. Her love wasn’t just a feeling; it was the foundation of your world. She navigated the early years with a grace that felt effortless, making sure that even in the chaos of life, her children always felt safe, cherished, and prioritized.

When she became a Grandma, that love only multiplied. She became the keeper of stories, the giver of extra treats, and the warm embrace that made her grandchildren feel like the center of the universe.

As a wife, she was a steady anchor. Her partnership was built on mutual respect and a shared journey through life’s highs and lows. To her friends, she was the person who could turn any ordinary moment into a celebration. She was the first to offer a hand and the one whose laughter could be heard across a crowded room.

Her life was a living testament to her deep faith. Her love for Jesus and the Virgin Mary wasn’t just something she practiced; it was the lens through which she viewed the world. Her faith gave her strength in hard times and a spirit of gratitude in good ones. She always gave us the same instruction she lived by: “Always have faith in Jesus and in our Holy Mother and be strong.”

She had a rare gift for finding the humor in life. Her laughter was infectious, a “holy noise” that reminded everyone around her not to take life too seriously. She didn’t just walk through the world; she brightened it. Her love was a reflection of the Divine, and her laughter was the music of a life well-lived.

She leaves behind a void that no one else can fill, but she also leaves a map of how to live: with a prayer on your lips, a laugh in your heart, and your arms open wide to the people you love.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Duarte; her son Hector D. Saucedo, her brothers, Ralph Duarte, Armando Duarte and Fred Duarte. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Cesario Cantu; her children, Carolyn Saucedo, Silvestre Saucedo Jr., John Saucedo (Lupe), Maria Saucedo and Veronica Garnica (Fernando); 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
