Adela B. Munoz, a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at her residence in New Braunfels at the age of 82. Adela was born on October 28, 1928 in New Braunfels to Candelario Barboza and Isabel Ramon Barboza. During most of her professional career, Adela worked as a beautician. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jose, Modesto, Manuel, Antonio and Angie. Survivors include her sons, Charles, Richard and wife, Emma and Michael Munoz and wife, Petra; grandchildren, Meli, Rick, Sarah, Alex, Charlie, Orlando and Priscilla; great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Arina; sister, Amelia Valadez. The family would like to acknowledge Inspiris Hospice in San Antonio for the wonderful care Adela received during her final days. In addition, special thanks to Adela's caregivers, Sylvia Lopez and Teresa Myers, for the sensitive and compassionate care given to Adela. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel, 1254 Business 35 N. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation starting at the church at 9:00 AM. Please note: There will not be a procession on Monday morning from Lux Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church. We ask those wishing to attend the Funeral Mass meet at Holy Family Catholic Church between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. All services will end at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass.
