In Loving Memory of Aden

With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, Aden, on May 22, 2026 at the very young age of 20.

Aden was a bright light in the lives of all who knew and loved him. He had a smile that could lift spirits, a heart that touched others in ways both big and small, and a presence that will never be forgotten. Whether through his laughter, kindness, sense of humor, determination, or the unique way he cared for those around him, Aden left an imprint on the hearts of many.

Above all else, Aden was a cherished son, family member, and friend. He brought love, joy, and meaning into the lives of those closest to him. The memories created with him—the conversations, the adventures, the quiet moments, and the love shared—will be treasured forever.

Aden is survived by his loving family, including parents Rachel Dowdey, Allen Shelton, Joel Anderson, Michael Waters, siblings Jase Anderson, Christina Anderson, Grandparents Billy and Ronda Waters, and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply. He was preceded in death by grandparents Elizabeth Dowdey and George Dowdey.

A celebration of Aden’s life will be held on June 20, 2026 at 10am at Lux Funeral Home in New Braunfels Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and remember the beautiful person he was. There will also be a ride out funeral procession in his honor to follow starting at noon that will end in the Buccees parking lot.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort in knowing that love never ends. Aden’s life, however brief, mattered deeply. He will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”

  1. No mother should have to outlive a child. When that does happen all we can do is thank God for the short time we had. Love and prayers to all who are hurt by the loss of a kind young soul.
