I, Alva Dee Moore, wish to announce my death on June 15, 2014 at my home in Canyon Lake during the 78th year of my life on this planet. I was born to Mabel Darling Moore, nee Willis, b. 1900 in Rice County, KS, d. 1972 in Hutchinson, KS and Garrie Hobart Moore, Sr., b. 1897 in Sullivan County, IN d. 1985 in Hutchinson, KS, on February 13, 1936 in Hutchinson, KS. My grandparents were: Grace Darling Willis, nee Thompson, 1879-1948; John Francis Willis, 1867-1934; Cora Belle Moore, nee Dix, October 1875, Sullivan County, IN-1930 Braman, OK; and Pleasant Ulysses Grant "PUG", June 1868, Sullivan County, IN-1935, Braman, OK, an Indian Wars Veteran. My great-grandparents were; Anna Marie Willis; Daniel Willis, 1830-1915, a GAR Veteran and Pleasant Grant Moore, 1820-1905, a GAR Veteran. I was preceded in death by my wife, Betty Moore of Canyon Lake, my parents, sisters, Carolyn Clarabelle Moore, 1941-1942 of Medora, KS, and Colleen Mildred Etherton, 1926-1974 of Antioch, VA, and brother Garrie Hobart Moore, Jr., b. 1923. I am survived by my daughter Charly Anderson and her husband, Shell, of Malibu, CA. I attended both Medora, KS and Burrton, KS Elementary Schools, graduating from Burrton High School, KS and being, sui juris, immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, I graduated from Sacramento State College with honors and served as a civilian employee with the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, retiring at Canyon Lake, TX. There will be no visitation nor public services. It is my wish to be cremated and my ashes intered at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
