Amelia B. Valadez, age 77, and a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at her home with her family by her side. Amelia was born on August 17, 1934 in New Braunfels to Candelario Barboza and Isabel Ramon Barboza. Amelia worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed with Colonial Manor for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jose, Modesto, Manuel, Antonio, Angie and Adelaida. Survivors include her loving husband, Abelardo R. Valadez; grandson, Rick "Papasito" Munoz and numerous nieces and nephews to include Charles Munoz, Richard Munoz and wife, Emma and Michael Munoz and wife, Petra. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation starting at the church at 9:00 AM. Please note: There will not be a procession on Wednesday morning from Lux Funeral Home to Holy Family Catholic Church. We ask those wishing to attend the Funeral Mass meet at Holy Family Catholic Church between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM. All services will end at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass.

My mom, Felipa Perez Rodriguez used to sew Amelia’s clothes for years and I remember her since I was a child. She was a wonderful and loving woman always, I just loved her. May God bless all of you.

  7. Lalo I am so sorry for your loss but sometimes we have to loose someone we love so they can be at peace. Amelia was a great friend and the best care giver when she worked with me at Colonial Manor for many years. I will never forget our friendship we had and the great person she was.   9. My condolences to the family, I’ll will miss you, she lived next door to my grandmother (Guadalupe Lerma), she was at my grandmothers funeral when she passed, she actually use to babysit me when I was a child, she was always very good to me and our family. love always, Cindy
